Yesterday we mentioned our neighbor Calle who volunteered to be our male model for the day. We dragged him to a nearby photo studio to be the face of our latest campaign. His task was to portray an ordinary Internet user and react to common website problems.
Our end user could be practically anyone on the Internet. We all experience the drawbacks of Internet usage from time to time. Slow websites, unavailable servers, forms that won’t work and other frustrating moments show their ugly faces more often than we would wish.
Considering the point of a company like Pingdom is to help other companies (and individuals) battle problems of this kind, we figured it would be fun to illustrate this with a somewhat frustrated end user in an “interactive” and educating way. We had a blast to producing the campaign, so we hope we manage to coax at least a smile out of you.
Image: This image was rejected after some discussion. The “insane” look wasn’t quite what our marketing department wanted. 🙂
Next time you’re having trouble with your or someone else’s website, go ahead and think those nasty thoughts for a while. Then think of how much better things would be if website owners immediately were alerted of problems with their site. (That’s where Pingdom comes in, if we haven’t already made that abundantly clear… 😉 )
Oh, what campaign, you ask? For a few days, we are offering a 50% discount on your first month or year, depending on which payment method you choose.
Go to www.pingdom.com and check out the campaign! Play around with the banner to see Calle’s different reactions. We feel an Oscar nomination may be just around the corner…
