At Pingdom we pride ourselves in making it easy for anyone to monitor the uptime and performance of websites and servers. We are very passionate about what we do and we want to make sure we include you, our customer, when we map out the future of our products.
Yesterday, we showed you a bunch of new cool and shiny hardware that will be used for a new product. Today we’d like to invite you to take part in shaping the next step in our quest to make the Internet a faster and more reliable place: RUM.
What is RUM?
Briefly, RUM is a passive monitoring technology, which you can use to keep an eye on front-end performance. It records all user interaction with a website, from the moment a user clicks to go to a page until it’s completely loaded.
RUM opens up a new set of exciting possibilities for you in terms of analyzing, diagnosing, and preventing performance issues.
RUM beta
We make no bones about being big fans of approaches like lean development and MVP, and with the addition of a dozen new geeks to our team since just last year, we are well-equipped to continuously add new features and make really cool things.
But we want your help in making sure our RUM product is as well-suited as it can be for your needs.
Pingdom RUM in beta is coming soon and we are looking for active beta users to help us evolve this service. We are thinking that together we can create one of the greatest RUM-services ever.
Participate in our RUM beta
In this first beta we have 100 slots for our existing customers, and if you are interested in participating, send us an email at rumbeta@pingdom.com. Tell us a little bit about yourself like what website, blog or subpage you’d like to include in the beta. Then, if your site is a good match for the RUM beta, we’ll get back to you with all the information you need.
The feedback from you, our beta user, is absolutely vital to us. All input counts, no matter how tiny or insignificant it might seem. Small scribbles on a piece of paper, an email, basically anything will do. We really value your input and want to talk to you about how we can improve.
Our promise to you is that you will be in direct contact with the brains behind the service, so come join us now.
For you to participate in this beta we think you have a website with a lot of traffic, at least 50,000 visits on a monthly basis, and you are, as mentioned, an existing Pingdom customer.
Presentation is key
We eat with our eyes first, so naturally we want Pingdom RUM to be easy on the eyes as well as user friendly. Therefore, apart from giving you reliable and actionable data, it comes served with a modern touch to the look and feel of the GUI.
