Al Jazeera hit by severe website problems

The website of the very well known Arabic news channel Al Jazeera had recurring problems all day yesterday, Monday October 9. The downtime during the day totaled 7 hours and 29 minutes, though problems lasted from 9:44 a.m. CET to 7:02 p.m. CET.

The downtime was recorded by GIGRIB. All GIGRIB uptime data is publicly available at www.gigrib.com, and a big goal for the project is to bring about more transparency regarding uptime issues. The specific report page for aljazeera.net can be found here.
