Wikipedia is on a roll. After a sometimes rocky uptime record in 2006, the online encyclopedia has only collected a total of 2 hours and 33 minutes of downtime so far in 2007.
Wikipedia is the 8th most popular website on the internet according to Alexa. Judging by its immense growth in traffic it looks set to climb even higher on that list.
Google search data also clearly shows the increasing popularity of Wikipedia.
Despite lacking the funds of many large corporate websites (Wikipedia is funded by donations), it has a very respectable uptime and are handling the onslaught of visitors very well. Wikipedia may not be able to match the unblemished uptime of Yahoo, but they are not that far behind.
