IDG.se, the largest source for IT news in Sweden, published an article today with the title (translated) “Pingdom could become synonymous with uptime.”
The article mentions how Pingdom is increasingly being used as a source for uptime data in various international IT magazines and websites. The analogy they use is how Alexa.com has become famous as a data source for estimating website traffic, and they think Pingdom may do the same for uptime.
A few of the places where data from Pingdom has shown up is CNET News.com, ZDNet.com, Network World, Computer World, PC World, The Register, InfoWorld, Web Pro News, TechCrunch, GigaOM and Center Networks. And that’s just a small selection.
Pingdom gets a little extra attention here in Sweden. After all, this is where we keep our HQ. Sam Nurmi, the founder of Pingdom, is already known as a successful IT entrepreneur since he built up his previous company, Loopia, to become the largest web hosting company in Sweden. After selling Loopia in 2005 Sam turned his focus to the global market with his new company (yes, Pingdom).
You can expect to see a lot more of us in the future. “Pingdom synonymous with uptime.” We like the sound of that.
