Ok, we’re one day late. 🙂 Yesterday, on January 1, it was exactly 25 years since the precursor to the internet, ARPANET, switched over to TCP/IP.
Google celebrated this (and the arrival of 2008) by changing their logo for the day, and included a nice little Easter egg. The handshake sequence of the TCP protocol was hidden in the logo (see image), and clicking on the logo led to a Google search for “January 1 tcp/ip”.
